1.【址:a g 9 559⒐ v i p】1"Here's the shawl," she cried. "I know she won't mind it. It will make such a nice red tablecloth."
2.Then it was Sara's turn again.
3."Ugh!" said Sara.
4.And as she stood there breathless under her sense of injury, there fell upon her ears a burst of gay voices from her own sacred room, which had actually been given up to the feast. She could at least stop this.
5.{I}t was quite true that Sara was never "grand." She was a friendly little soul, and shared her privileges and belongings with a free hand. The little ones, who were accustomed to being disdained and ordered out of the way by mature ladies aged ten and twelve, were never made to cry by this most envied of them all. She was a motherly young person, and when people fell down and scraped their knees, she ran and helped them up and patted them, or found in her pocket a bonbon or some other article of a soothing nature. She never pushed them out of her way or alluded to their years as a humiliation and a blot upon their small characters.
6.Sara nodded.

1."What sort of things?" demanded Lottie, with that cu{ri}osity Sara could always awaken even in bigger girls.
2."If we just had something for bonbon dishes," Sara murmured. "There!"--darting to the trunk again. "I remember I saw something this minute."
3.The first time Sara took her in charge was one morning when, on passing a sitting room, she heard both Miss Minchin and Miss Amelia trying to suppress the angry wails of some child who, evidently, refused to be silenced. She refused so strenuously indeed that Miss Minchin was obliged to almost shout--in a stately and severe manner-- to make herself heard.
4.Sara laid her purchases on the table.
5.She held an old summer hat in her hand which she had fished out of the bottom of the trunk. There was a wreath of flowers on it. She pulled the wreath off.
6.When Sara went into her sitting room in the morning, she found on the table a small, dumpy package, tied up in a piece of brown paper. She knew it was a present, and she thought she could guess whom it came from. She opened it quite tenderly. It was a square pincushion, made of not quite clean red flannel, and black pins had been stuck carefully into it to form the words, "Menny hapy returns."

1."I don't know, I'm sure; and I don't care if it's something more about that everlasting Sara."
2."No," Sara answered. "I will not put her down. She is all I have. My papa gave her to me."
3."See," she said, putting the bun in the ragged lap, "this is nice and hot. Eat it, and you will not feel so hungry."
4.And she began from that minute to feel rather a grudge against her show pupil.
5. "Ermie!" she said. "Let us PRETEND>! Let us pretend it's a party! And oh, won't you invite the prisoner in the next cell?"
6."But I'll go and ask the baker woman if she has lost anything," she said to herself, rather faintly. So she crossed the pavement and put her wet foot on the step. As she did so she saw something that made her stop.

应用

1.She gave Becky a little cheerful shake.
2."She isn't pretty as other pretty people are," said Jessie, stealing a glance across the room; "but she makes you want to look at her again. She has tremendously long eyelashes, but her eyes are almost green."
3."Pray, be seated, Mr. Barrow," she said.
4、The secretary took a pencil and a tablet from his breast pocket.
5、"Will he come? Will he come?" she whispered.

"No, no! You mustn't cry!" she said. "We must make haste and set the table."

  • 艾永斌 08-09

"I was wondering," answered Sara, as she had answered that notable day in the schoolroom.

  • 韩惠 08-09

"Thank you, Sara!" it said, and it must be confessed that Lottie jumped up and down. Sara looked rather shy for a moment. She made a curtsy--and it was a very nice one.

  • 程章文 08-09

But in Sara's hungry eyes the old light had begun to glow and transform her world for her. Here in the attic--with the cold night outside-- with the afternoon in the sloppy streets barely passed--with the memory of the awful unfed look in the beggar child's eyes not yet faded-- this simple, cheerful thing had happened like a thing of magic.

{The next ten minutes seemed to Becky like a sort of delirium. Sara opened a cupboard, and gave her a thick slice of cake. She seemed to rejoice when it was devoured in hungry bites. She talked and asked questions, and laughed until Becky's fears actually began to calm themselves, and she once or twice gathered boldness enough to ask a question or so herself, daring as she felt it to be.

    "To the little girl in the attic. From a friend."}

She picked up the books, swept the rest of the feast back into the hamper in a jumbled heap, thrust it into Ermengarde's arms, and pushed her before her toward the door.

  • 邓德勇 08-07

"Oh, oh!" she cried woefully. "And I never knew!"

  • 王继先 08-06

She had the imagined future so clearly before her eyes that she spoke in a manner which had an effect even upon Miss Minchin. It almost seemed for the moment to her narrow, unimaginative mind that there must be some real power hidden behind this candid daring.

  • 程琛 08-04

{Ermengarde was interested, as she always was. "When you talk about things," she said, "they seem as if they grew real. You talk about Melchisedec as if he was a person."

  • 蒋爱琴 08-04

    "Of what?"
